Simon Warder

Congratulations to Nicole Todd (CAN) and Ashley Davies (ENG). These two talented players are our 2017 professional champions.

This tournament started in 2012, as a tribute to Simon Warder. Simon was a pillar of the squash community in Sarnia and throughout Ontario. When prostate cancer took Simon from us in late 2011, we felt it was important to continue Simon’s legacy, while also raising funds to help fight this disease. To date this tournament has raised over $109,000 to help fight prostate cancer.

The tournament mandate has always been to raise funds for prostate cancer research, commemorate Simon and host a fun squash event.

Again this year we are excited to host a Professional Squash Association event for both Men and Women, with $5,000US prize money for each division. This has attracted a number of professional squash players from around the world who will showcase their talents right here in Sarnia!

We are very proud of the growth of this tournament. This is due to the incredible generosity of our many corporate donors, but specially Alliance Fabricating Ltd. Since becoming the title sponsor we have quadrupled the amount we have donated.

We are pleased to announce that ANJ and Summit Insulation have returned as sponsors of the Men’s and Women’s professional events this year. We also wish to thank the numerous other corporate sponsors displayed on this website.

The generous corporate support has always been paralleled by the support from the squash community. The participation in the event, the contributions through the draws and silent auction, and atmosphere that you create continues to be a driving force to the success.

Simon, we know in your own humble way, that you are looking down on us, and that you are proud of what we are doing. We are only too sad that you are not here in the flesh to enjoy it with us!
